Dear Laser Dental colleagues,
Lasers in dentistry have evolved as a versatile, non-invasive, highly specialized diagnostic and therapeutic tool. Considered literally as a magic wand, Lase to erase can be the new mantra in various soft and hard tissue procedures in dentistry. However, as complicated is its evolution and the physics that makes it all, Laser technology has become all the more ubiquitous in dentistry and varied allied fields.
There has been a sudden surge in the field of Laser Dentistry with the uprising of several Laser training institutes, academies, workshops, and laser education imparted at the institute levels. High quality research into the diagnostic, surgical, and therapeutic use of lasers in dentistry is escalating, as seen by the number of scientific papers presented at various academic forii and published in peer reviewed international journals worldwide.
This is not surprising as Amplified light simplified treatment seems to be the current concept or misconcept. My perception stands true about this fact as there is a plethora of knowledgeable stalwarts in this field who are ready to impart their knowledge and ever increasing demands by patients for a comfortable, pain-free treatment making many a student undergo this training.
The SOLA, being pioneers in Laser dentistry in India, have definitely made it possible for several dentists in India and abroad to achieve this goal. By conducting state of the art scientific conventions, diploma and masters modules with University of Vienna, inviting several national and international speakers to train students, it definitely is an institution in itself. Journal of Dental Lasers is the official publication of SOLA.
