Greetings to our readers. Firstly I would like to thank team SOLA for giving me this opportunity to work on the editorial board of the Journal of Dental Lasers (JDL) and it is an honor for me to take over the reigns from Dr. Vivek Hegde.
SOLA as an organization came into existence way back in 2006 and it was always a dream of ours to have a quality journal that becomes a platform for knowledge sharing in the field of dental lasers. This journal started out as "SOLAZE" which has now evolved into the JDL. We are constantly working towards improving the standards of JDL and we strive toward it with each new volume. We have had six volumes of SOLAZE and four volumes of JDL so far and each volume is distributed to over 650 members across the country. We are also proud to announce that this journal is now available as an exclusive online journal.
Today dental lasers have become popular especially the soft tissue diode laser. A lot of work is being done in this field and I urge everyone to document and share through this journal their experiences in clinical practices. I also request the academicians to encourage their students to take up original research work pertaining to the use of dental lasers and use the JDL as a medium for their publications.
I would also like to take this opportunity to announce the 16 th batch of the diploma module for oral laser applications from the 1st to 4 th of September 2015 followed by the 7 th National Conference on the 5 th and 6 th of September 2015, both being held in Jaipur. I invite one and all to attend and participate in these events.
