"Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think"
-Albert Einstein
Albert Einstein was a great mind and the above quote only exemplifies his greatness. Einstein's theoretical discovery of stimulated emission forms the very basis on which lasers work. His words cannot be more apt for the field of dental lasers where we learn with every situation and every application of the dental laser. It reiterates that there are no fixed parameters to work within for the dental lasers and that we have to adapt ourselves and our machines based on the understanding and the knowledge we gain on the subject.
It gives me great pleasure in bringing to you another edition of our journal "Journal of Dental Lasers (JDL)." It is heartening to see the number of articles being submitted for publication. Our previous issue has a variety of case reports and original articles ranging in the fields of periodontology, oral surgery, and restorative dentistry and we look forward to much more such contributions.
Finally, JDL is a fully accessible online journal and therefore has a greater reach among our peers. We at SOLA would like to encourage the several postgraduate students carrying out studies and thesis topics on dental lasers to take advantage of this platform to share your experiences and findings with our colleagues.
Happy reading and happy learning.
